This beautiful antique porcelain plaque depicts the Madonna and baby Jesus after Raphael's famous painting, "Madonna della Seggiola". The plaque resides in an old silver frame on which we have found no hallmarks. A very old and worn layer of velvet remains on the rear, hiding any hallmarks. This KPM plaque depicts The Vision after the original painting by the important Austrian-born artist, Gabriel Cornelius Ritter von Max (1840-1915). Plaque measures 7.5 by 10 inches (19.0 by 25.4 cm) and frame measures 9.5 by 12 by 1.5 inches (24.1 by 30.5 by 3.8 cm). Plaque and frame weigh 2.5 lbs. (1.1 kg). This lovely Rosenthal figurine dates from circa 1940 and was designed by Ernst Wenck. Measures 6" by 6" by 3.25" and weighs 1 lbs. 4 oz. Underside carries the Rosenthal U.S. Zone mark, dating the piece to the post-WWII period. No cracks, chips or repairs. Unfortunately we do not have images of the underside at this time.
This lovely nineteenth century KPM plaque, signed Bero, depicts a young man courting a young woman. It measures 6" high and 4" wide and carries the impressed KPM sceptre mark.
