| This fabulous canned glass vase, attributed to Venini, dates from the 1980s. It measures 13.75" (34.9 cm) tall and 7.5" in diameter and weighs 3 lbs. 6 oz. Condition is excellent, with no chips and no visible cracks. Some light scratches along the underside are consistent with age. (Some white paper label residue resides on the underside.) We have not found a signature, but etched Venini marks can be extremely difficult to find on some pieces, and we have based our attribution on three credible auction records. On May 6 2004, Bonham's of Edinburgh offered a Venini vase with identical colors, design and shape in lot 41. On December 6, 2006, Von Zezschwitz Kunst und Design of Munich offered a similar Venini vase in red in lot 4234. And on May 21 2005, in the Sotheby's New York auction of the Collection of Gianni Versace, this Venini design in red and blue sold in lot 107 for $2,640.
