OMEGA Sub. Seconds Caliber 265 .935 Fine Silver Original Rare Case Circa: 1949. Very Rare.
Top- Range Case maker Schmitz of Grencheon, Switzerland produced this case design, one of several and very special .935 silver case designs only for the Philippine and Singapore markets. This marketing attempt failed and many cases were never sold or distributed. Very few were produced because of this marketing failure. This watch was discovered in a lot of 8 (uncirculated). Like Cartier (The "tank" is l935 Silver with a yellow plate) this Omega case maker originally intended to nickel plate this case to protect it against tarnish. This case was never nickel plated and is uncirculated and is like new. Extremely rare. Note: See page 261 OMEGA/ A JOURNEY THROUGH time BY Marco Richon and Nicolas G. Hayek 2007 831 pages. 38mm diameter without the crown, 11mm thick, and 49mm in total length. Silver Omega Logo buckle on a tobacco colored genuine Lizard strap. Rare. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. CASE: Original snap back and bezel satin finished case design marked: “.935”. “SWISS MADE FABRICATION SWISSE”/786 0332”. This case design seen on early Patet Phillippe.
