Offered for sale is this turn of the century commercial glass jar that was used perhaps in an apothecary or medical setting. The hand blown lid is hollow and has uneven wear on the sides as it does not fit air tight into the jar. Beautiful glass with wavy lines and air bubbles.

Offered for sale is this Bosatsu relief carved from a natural stone. It appears that a hardened substance was adhered to the base to make the jizo stand upright without tipping over. There is loss of stone on the frontal tip of the jizo. Weighs unpacked 15 pounds 8 ounces.

A Buddhist Temple wood box with iron lock and inner drawer. The lock is no longer functional and part has been replaced with a wood knob and underplate. The box has carved arabesque pattern on the top and face of the box. The sides and box end have stenciled arabesque pattern, lotus and mon. The maker of the box is Tsujii, Ukichi. It is dated 1835. The double line of kanji is on the bottom of the box and and single line of kanji is on the bottom of the inner box. There is wear to the box, nicks, loss on wood on one foot end and lacquer wear.

This chochin, Japanese paper collapsible lantern, is made of water proofed paper with lacquered bentwood encased top and bottom including metal hardware. The lid under the handle retracts and allows the candle to be attached to the pricket. There are two chains inside which keep the lantern hanging at the right length. Please note that one chain has broken and a safety pin is used to connect the links. There are some holes in the paper and along the circular bamboo splines, noticeable in the inked medallion area. There are wood chips, a stress crack in the bentwood and loss of lacquer from both metal and wood areas. Please see photos for examples of condition. Dates from the Meiji - Taisho era.

Offered for sale is this pair bronze hibachi with high relief scenes and elephant handles. On one side is Chokwaro, a mountain genie or Sennin who possessed a magic gourd. Upon command, a horse would emerge from the gourd on which he could ride away. The pair hibachi have not been polished but left as they were when last used. There is oxidation on the insides and small amount on the bodys' exteriors. There is some wear and loss of patina from use. Date circa 1900's.
