Offered for sale is this black lacquered writer's box with mother of pearl inlay. There is a sumi inkstone and porcelain suiteki and it comes with it's original kiri wood box. It is in good condition with no chips or cracks. There is some loss of lacquer around the edges where the sumi inkstone sits.

Weighing in at 29 1/2 pounds, is this most impressive Ainu bear, created by a master carver. The Ainu people of Hokkaido, Japan, are well know for their tradition of carving bears. Please note how the paws are carved on the underside as well as the top side. The bear is in overall good condition with small loss of wood from the tongue/mouth and back leg. SOLD 

Offered for sale is this cast iron tetsubin with signed bronze lid by Ryubundo. A band encircles the shoulder of the teapot and kanji repeat the message of happiness and long life. The tetsubin was filled with water for 24 hours - it did not leak. It is in overall good condition, please note the rust on the bowl's interior and the discoloration/spots on the bronze lid. The knob is slightly loose and can tilt.

A Japanese metal lantern with textured and frosted glass panels on each side. A swing door provides access to the lighting source's pricket which holds the candle. It is in overall good condition but please note that there is some discoloration to the metal roof and 2 strips of metal banding are loose which join at one corner. The stand which the metal fits over is wood. The metal is non ferrous and is probably copper. Dates 1950's or earlier.

Offered for sale is this pair of ceramic te-aburi hibachi, portable hand warmers. They come with their original wood box, and part of the kanji on the lid reads "te-aburi". They date from the mid or later 20th century. They appear never to have been used and were packed in their box with a newspaer dated 1969. Condition is very good.
