Large grey flannel patches have been used to reinforce the drab outer garment side. On the inside fronts, indigo & katazome panels are patched, some with sashiko stitching. There are some well stitched patches arranged with thought, as well as many areas that are tatterd, torn and distressed from years of service. Dates from first half of 20th century.

Bamboo tea whisk probably used in a tea store as a display prop. It is in overall good condition for its age and usage. There are a few cracks in the bamboo which extend from the tine cut down past the knuckle. Two of the tines have broken off and a third tine is splitting. . There is some discoloration to the base of the whisk.

A lacquered haribako with shell adornment of Sho-Chiku-Bai (Pine, Bamboo & Plum). Four drawers and a flip top lid make up this sewing box. There is loss of finish where the fingers came into contact with the handles and other areas of the box. The finish loss and scuff marks are difficult to see as they blend in with the wakasa style finish. Dates mid century or earlier.

Each giboshi is carved from one piece of wood. This style bridge ornamentation is often found in Japanese gardens or temples. As well as being ornamental in the shape of a bulbous flower or onion, it is also a corner anchor for rails. They are well weathered, each post has splits and pitting/loss of wood to the tip/tops of the bulbs. Each post is slightly different in dimension from the other. Each post has 2 sockets to hold rails and a third socket that is not cut through. Age unknown, but estimating they are mid century or earlier Unpacked the pair weigh 34 pounds.
