$1500.00

Standing 6' tall, this Kasuga Style lantern has a strong presence and will always be a focal piece. It has the sun and the moon as well as grid patterns on the section beneath the curved roof. It has a heavy white glaze with lots of quartz and pitting in the style of shino-yaki. The middle sections have been fused while the base and the top are separate, as is the finial. There's some loss of the glaze and some wear around the base of the pillar but only superficial flaws and/or wear can be found. It lists a bit but by turning the sections can be adjusted. The roof is about 29" across.
