Standing 6' tall, this Kasuga Style lantern has a strong presence and will always be a focal piece. It has the sun and the moon as well as grid patterns on the section beneath the curved roof. It has a heavy white glaze with lots of quartz and pitting in the style of shino-yaki. The middle sections have been fused while the base and the top are separate, as is the finial. There's some loss of the glaze and some wear around the base of the pillar but only superficial flaws and/or wear can be found. It lists a bit but by turning the sections can be adjusted. The roof is about 29" across. Please inquire for shipping quote.

The ever-cheery Otafuku is depicted in this Oribe mask. The details of her essence are captured in the rough work of the potter. There's a rim chip on her chin, and maybe something off the back. It has two loops, presumably for hanging but there's a clay lump on the edge that may not be intact, or it may be kiln artifact. Dates from early Showa or before. Dimensions: Length; 8" Width: 7" Depth: 2-1/2" Please add $12.00 for insured Priority Mail shipping in the continental U.S. Other locations please inquire for shipping quote.
