The noboro is displayed on boy's day, May 5. This banner with its samurai and horse is hand painted on a heavy weight cotton. It is in overall good conition for a banner that was hung many times in celebration. Two areas along the side seams have tears and therre are stains. The tabs are soiled from usage. Vibrant and dramatic.

Offered for sale is this vintage "half under kimono" or Han Juban made of cotton flannel (body) and sleeves of silk with a light weight wool lining. There is a 1/16 inch hole in the silk sleeve and the faded saffron colored wool lining has numerous holes and mends (boro) in both sleeve linings. The collar is fraying.
