A lacquered haribako with shell adornment of Sho-Chiku-Bai (Pine, Bamboo & Plum). Four drawers and a flip top lid make up this sewing box. There is loss of finish where the fingers came into contact with the handles and other areas of the box. The finish loss and scuff marks are difficult to see as they blend in with the wakasa style finish. Dates mid century or earlier.

Each giboshi is carved from one piece of wood. This style bridge ornamentation is often found in Japanese gardens or temples. As well as being ornamental in the shape of a bulbous flower or onion, it is also a corner anchor for rails. They are well weathered, each post has splits and pitting/loss of wood to the tip/tops of the bulbs. Each post is slightly different in dimension from the other. Each post has 2 sockets to hold rails and a third socket that is not cut through. Age unknown, but estimating they are mid century or earlier Unpacked the pair weigh 34 pounds.

A Japanese shop sign with inked characters and the business trademark in red kanji. The knife manufacturer's proprietor's name is listed as Sugiurayusaku. The edges have nicks. There is some damage/loss of wood on the bottom side of the sign which does not show from the front view.

Pair kiri wood hibachi with enamel peony and bamboo motif. The liners are copper and the hibachi come with the original box. The cross bar on the lift out lid panel is missing and the panel is held together with tape. On one hibachi, three of the leaves have been repainted and on the second hibachi 2 of the leaves have been repainted - the painting is poorly excecuted and have a rough feel. The storage box is dated Showa 40 (1965).

Charming box that is hand painted and has parquetry of block design for the door's panel. There are three drawers and a compartment. The door's knob is missing but has been replaced with a gold lame ribbon. There is a small dent on one side and there is some loss of lacquer finish. Dates from early to mid Showa period.

This wood oka-mochi was used to deliver food. There are two rectangular boxes for food storage with a removable black lacquered shelf in the lower unit. The handle and cross bars are lacquered as well as the box's interiors. There is minor wood loss on the handle and other areas of the carrying box.

An iron handle provides easy portability of this wood bento box lunch set. The lacquered box with lift door holds the 5 divided lunch boxes and one lid. The lunch boxes have a dark brackish green lacquer with lacquered red interiors. There are lacquer chips and minor chips and wear on the storage carrier. It is in overall good condition and dates from the Taisho era.
