This pair is carved in high relief and showcases an eagle pair and pine. Carving on the ranma front sides extends beyond the cartouche for added drama, but the back sides also offer striking detail, ie. the bird's raised foot. Intriguing little figure sits atop a one-piece base made of burl with stems or roots. The base is only slightly shaped by the artist; nature did most of the work. The figure appears to sit on an elaborate seat.
