Japanese Wood Box Dried Fish Shaver
The aroma of shaved dried fish lingers on the box and plane used to produce "kezuri bushiki". The iron blade of the plane has the trademark "Shigemichi". The box probably had another purpose before being repurposed into a fish shaver receptacle as the drawer front is inoperable. There is a break in the lid's top and there are nicks, abrasions and loss of patina to the box from its years of usage. Dates from early 20th century.

Box Dimensions: 7 5/8" x 13 1/8" 5 1/4"H
Plane Dimensions: 2 3/4" x 9 3/8" x 1 3/4"
