| Beautifully executed and highly collectible small decorative art pottery bowl by Rookwood. Standard glaze pieces using underglaze slip painting were introduced by Rookwood in 1883. The bowl measures 2 ¼” high and 6” wide. The opening is 3 ¼” wide. It bears the incised Rookwood Pottery flame mark with Roman Numeral I , indicating it dates to 1901. It also bears an incised 923 for shape and very faint but visible artist initials that appear to be MM, possibly Margaret McDonald .Glossy floral design resembling ochre colored carnation like flowers with varied green toned leaves on a brownish, ochre and orange background. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Please not that the highlights and lines in the photos are light reflections only. Overall fine crazing consistent with age. | |||||||||
