| This is a spectacular, gorgeous platter in a rare pattern by Davenport, c. 1837, measuring 21" long and 16" wide. In brown transfer with enamelled overlay in greens, yellows and blues, the central scene is Oriental and features 3 figures, pagodas and a river. The pagodas are tinted yellow, the plants blue and green. The border is an elaborate vine with blue flowers and red berries, plus 6 brown medallions with green leaves. A hairline has been professionally repaired; otherwise it is mint with no chips or discoloration. Markings to the back include the impressed Davenport anchor with a 3 and 7, indicating potting in 1837, along with printed pattern name Erica and Davenport. Please email for additional pictures. | |
