Edwardian Seed Pearl Bird Brooch
It would be hard to find a more beautifully graceful and understated example of antique bird brooches. This particular brooch has three swallows flying wingtip to beak measuring three inches wingtip to wingtip. They are slightly graduated in size with the largest bird measuring 1 3/8 inches in width. The birds wings are set with seed pearls and the bodies are set with natural marcasite stone. It is hard to find, but on the back on the wingtip of the largest bird, it is marked "925" for sterling. This has a locking c-clasp so it is slightly newer, not Victorian, but Edwardian. It is in beautiful, wearable condition and is a striking piece. Circa 1915.
