A bronze figure representing the goddess Bastet, her slender female form is wrapped in a fine incised robe and she holds an aegis to her chest as well as a situla slung on her arm. A sizeable and very fine pottery jar with two pierced lug handles, decorated on the body and base with painted parallel wavy lines. Egypt, Pre-Dynastic, Naqada II, circa 3500 BC Intact apart from chipping on the rim, some light surface flakes and ancient surface cracks. There is some black staining in the cracks and over one handle - this appears to be the ancient contents which have spilt or soaked through the pottery, some residue is retained in the interior. A pale amber coloured glass intaglio seal decorated with a profile portrait, most likely a depiction of Julius Caesar.
