A green glazed faience finger ring decorated with an openwork and relief moulded design incorporating a seated goddess, possibly Maat.
Egypt, 22nd Dynasty, 10th to 8th Century BC
Size: 2.3 x 1.5 cms
Repaired from five pieces with a small area of loss
Ex. collection: C. R. Stone, UK; acquired around Heliopolis in Egypt during the early 1940's. Mr. Stone was attached to the intelligence division of the Royal Air Force and based in Egypt for a large part of World War II.

A black glazed pottery miniature trefoil-lipped oinochoe (chous) decorated in red figure with a depiction of a child raising himself on a foot-stool to reach a jug suspended on a wall. The child is shown with typical podgy features and long hair, he wears a girdle of amulets around his naked waist.

Ex. Private collection, UK; acquired in the early 20th Century. Thence acquired in Christies London in 2005 by Dr. Pietro Villari, Sicily, Italy. Dr. Villari co-founded The International Centre of High Education and Research in Archaeology (Venice); and in 1996 he also founded The Archaeological Centre (The Netherlands).

Repaired from numerous fragments with some restoration.

Ex. collection: Leto Severis, Cyprus. (There is no characteristic LS reference number inked on the base but the previous owner acquired this vessel at the dispersal of the Severis collection in Christies).
