A cast bronze handle from a metal vessel. The upper part is decorated with a leaf-shaped thumb-spur and the lower part terminates in a ivy leaf shaped finial.
Roman, 1st to 3rd Century AD
Fragment as seen. A tiny chip missing from the protrusion at the base of the ivy leaf otherwise in very good condition.
Size: 13.7 x 9.5 cms

A bronze speculum implement with turned decoration around the gripping area of the shaft.
The name speculum is applied to a variety of undetermined bronze implements from the Roman world which would have been used for medical or personal hygiene functions; this shape of implement with a small scoop at one end is also sometimes referred to as an ear-cleaner.

A handle from a fine bronze oil lamp decorated with a horse's head sprouting from a flower.
The oil lamp would have been suspended from a candelabrium or ceiling via a chain which was attached to the loop below the horse head.
