This is a beautifully decorated Arita bowl with lid from the early 19th century (1820-40, late Edo era). It shows floral decoration on the outside and a "minogame" (the bearded turtle of Japanese mythology) as well as stylised waves on the inside.

Diameter 11.5 cm (4.5"), height 8 cm (3"), perfect state.
