Japanese lacquer bowl with lid Meiji period 1880-1900

Japanese lacquer 'chawan' (lidded bowl) from the mid-Meiji period (1880-1900).

It is decorated in takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and nashiji techniques on a red background, with a floral decoration on the outside and butterflies on the inside

There is no mark.

Diameter 10.5 cm (4 inches), height 6.5 cm (2.5 inches); excellent condition.
