This is a very rare 19 Century painting "Reading of Bible" by known Dutch artist Alexander H. Bakker-Korff (1824-1882). This painting is a version of the painting with the same subject by Bakker-Korff from Gemeentemuseum Den Haag, Den Haag (you can see an image of this museum painting on my photo). According to Artprice.com another painting by Bakker-Korff was sold on Sotheby's auction in Amsterdam at 05/11/1996 for $39 780. The painting is oil on canvas, signed bottom left. The size is 17" x 21", with the frame 23"1/4' x 27"1/4'.

Framed 4 paintings of view of Moscow church in neoclassical style (end of 18 Century) and small houses in Empire style (early 19 Century) by Sergei Arsenyevich Vinogradov (1869-1938), February-March 1920, color pencils on paper, signed and dated bottom left. Framed size of the paintings is 8"x 11".
S.A.Vinogradov was one of the famous Russian landscape painters 19-20 Centuries. He studied under Polenov, Pryanishnikov and Makovsky at the Moscow College from 1880. In 1893 he joined the Wanderers and exhibited with them until 1901. He exhibited in Dusseldorf in 1904 and in Paris in 1906. He exhibited with the World of Art 1901-6 and with the Union of Russian Artists in 1906 and 1909. He exhibited in New York in 1924.

Huge framed oil painting "View of Russian South Cosssack Town", early 20 Century, signed lower left but I can't read the signature, oil on canvas. Framed size is 35"x 45", unframed 28"x 38". I was told that the painting depicts a view of Rostov town. There are the Cossack street vendors and Cossacks walking on the street. The painting executed in the manner and colors of very famous Russian artist Phillip Maliavin. The painting is in untouched condition and needs in cleanning.

This painting depicts nice mountain landscape by well listed Russian artist Vladimir Georgievich Gremitskikh (1916-1991). V.G.Gremitskikh is listed in all the major Russian art references and is highly collectable today. Born in Novosibirsk in 1916, he studied in Moscow Art School (1932-36) under K.K.Zephirov, Moscow Art Institute (1936-42) under P.D.Pokarzhevsky and S.V.Gerasimov. Gremitskikh lived and worked in Moscow. He was participating of Pan Russian exhibitions from 1943. Biography of Gremitskikh is published in well known Russian Biobibliographical Art Dictionary of Russian Artists, Iskusstvo, Moscow, 1976, v.3, p.161 (you can see Gremitskikh’s page from this reference on the photos). According to the other book-reference “Exhibitions”, Soviet Khudozhnik, Moscow, 1973, v.3-5 V.G.Gremitskikh regularly took part in Pan Russian exhibitions. From the Russian Art Catalogue of Price, London, 2006, Art Russie, Ltd. the paintings by V.G.Gremitskikh was sold on auctions for $5000-7000 (see my photo). His works are in leading museums of Russia. The painting is oil on board, bears date 1959 and signature in Cyrillic on the reverse of the painting. Unframed size is 27”1/2'x 19”3/4' (70 x 50 cm). I have bought this painting from artist's heirs in Moscow.

This is a beautiful highest quality portrait of a lady by well known Italian artist Ferdinando Cavalleri (1794-1865). Cavalleri was born in Turin, worked in Roma, was a professeur of Academy de Saint-Luc. According to Artprice.com another portrait painting by F.Cavalleri was sold on Sotheby's auction in Milan at 05.27.07 for $26 910. The painting is oil on canvas, signed and dated "Roma 1842" bottom right (see my photo). Size of the painting is 36"3/4' x 29"1/2', with the frame 41" x 34". The painting is in good condition.

RUSSIAN PAINTER MICHAEL NIKANDROVICH CHIVILEV (1837-1861), A VERY FINE PAINTING AFTER VERONESE'S ADORATION OF THE MAGI, 1858 FROM STATE HERMITAGE MUSEUM, ST.PETERSBURG.
The original work was executed in 1570s by Paolo Veronese (1528-1588). Today the painting hangs in the State Hermitage Museum, St.Petersburg. The painting by M.N.Chivilev is oil on canvas, on the reverse of the painting is sign in Cyrillic "Chivilev from Veronese in Hermitage" and dated 1858 (see my photos). Size is 17” x 12”1/4' ( the same size of the original), with the frame 23”3/4’ x 19”1/4’.
