| Framed oil painting of early 20 Century "Monastery by the Lake" by very famous Russian artist Leonid Victorovich Turzhansky (Turjansky)(1875-1946), oil on board,signed bottom left, good condition, unframed size is 14"1/2'x 26", framed 21"x 33". L.Turzhansky was born in Yekaterinburg, studied and worked in Moscow. He studied at Yekaterinburg under N.M.Plyushkin 1889-95, under Dmitriyev-Kavkazsky in St.Petersburg in 1896-7 and at the Moscow College under V.A.Serov, K.A.Korovin, V.N.Baksheyev and A.S.Stepanov 1898-1909. He started exhibit with the Wanderers from 1904. He was represented at the exhibitions in Berlin, Harbin, Japan, Moscow, Leningrad, etc. His works are in leading museums of the World. His style is close to sezannnism of the artists of "Bubnovy Valet". | ||||||
