Born Rudolph Carl Gorman(1931-2005) in Chinle, Arizona on a Navajo reservation, R C Gorman was often called the "Picasso of American Indian artists". He liked to capture the beauty of his people, especially women in beautiful vivid colors. Primarily known for his lithographs, but also worked with oil and acrylic, intaglio,serigraphy, ceramics, bronze and papercasting.
