This adorable antique Japanese Sumida Gawa vase has turned iron-red body, neck covered with a glaze of various shades of grey, green and black dripping down the shoulder and into the mouth. With children carrying a Buddhist drum and seated on the side of the vase. This piece is signed on a glazed plaque on side.

Condition: The vase is in good overall condition. As the photos show there is minor old damage; one of child's hand is missing and there is a crack on the body...

Antique Japanese Bronze sculpture extremely well modeled and superbly executed with stunning details depicting a young Japanese philosopher Kinjiro Ninomiya Sontoku carrying a bundle of firewood on his back and an axe through the back of his belt. The interior of the base is entirely inscribed in Japanese characters.

CONDITION: Very good quality workmanship with excellent natural dark patina, the right hand, carved of bone, is possibly a later replacement...

The octagonal form with alternating panels on both interior and exterior of flowers and of boat in garden landscape. The cavetto with vase and flowers decoration. Flowers and vine decoration around the foot. Flower head decoration in red enamel inside blue ring within ring foot. The white glaze around the buff colored foot rim burned to a thin dark iron colored ring before the unglazed rim...

A marked Meissen match safe from the late 19th century for those matches that were struck on any rough surface. The rough surface is on the inside of the top. The box is a rectangle with cut corners and curved sides. The outside of the top is stepped with blue bands marking each step to the flat top, the sides of the lower portion curve inward to a low foot. The crossed swords on the bottom in underglaze blue are typical late 19th century...

Big "Bianlian" Nuo mask of Tudi Gong, the "God of soil" and grains, essential in an agrarian country. He is the main actor in Wunuo cult, usually represented with a smiling face, and long eyebrows and beard often missing or replaced later; when missing, we can see holes where the hair was fastened.
Bianlian means face changing: this mask has an articulated jaw which could be animated by the wearer...

Chinese delicately carved jadeite "pebble"; of unusual form: rendered as a lily pad wrapped about swimming fishes with scrolling foliage in deep relief; the interior of light green with a polished rust color pebble exterior, artist has rendered great workmanship featuring this wonderful carving, late 19th/early 20th century period. Chinese late Qing dynasty Guangxu period multi-lobed wedding collar embroidered in polychrome silk thread with flowers, birds, insects, and small animals on a silk ground. The collar is composed of two layers of streamers, with shorter red narrow streamers lightly stitched onto longer white streamers which terminate in ruyi heads.
