This is a Japanese antique silk furisode rinzu Hand drawn dyed and embroidery kimono of the Edo period. It is a pattern of Japanese a small river crab and Japanese shiran(orchids) that enter the running water. It's very simple, but they are very charming river small crabs. Early 19th century ebony netsuke of a shishi (Buddhist lion) sitting foursquare on a base, its head turned to the right. Like any dark object does not photograph well. 19th century boxwood netsuke carved as standing Hotei (one of the 7 Gods of Good Luck, also considered to be the incarnation of Maitreya - the Buddha of the future) carrying a large bag of gifts on his back and with a karako (Chinese boy) sticking out of the bag. Great quality carving - see his face with the a happy smile and delicately incised facial hair, flow of robe lines and nicely done patterns. Beautiful patina and wear, very pleasant feel of age.
