This is an attractive and unsigned Japanese Cloisonne that looks very similar to some of the signed Hayashi Hachizaemon pieces we have seen. It stands 6 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

An antique Nepalo-Tibetan White Tara cast in bronze with gold gilt and a ruby stone mounted on the crown. White Tara is seen as a protective deity. This is a fragment to a large shrine which included a Green Tara, central Buddha and White Tara.

19th century wooden netsuke in manju (rice cake) shape carved on the front in low relief with a woman holding in her mouth an object that looks like a hammer striker for a musical instrument, a cloth wrapped top of a biwa (Japanese lute) in her hand and a scaly body of a dragon on her right. The woman is Benten - the Goddess of learning, speech and music - and one of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, and the netsuke can be interpreted as a wish for scholarly achievements...

A well painted and modeled figure of a kneeling man wearing a black cap and brown coat holding a board with a white cloth covered with fruit. On the underside of the base are the poorly impressed the marks of the Gardner factory in Moscow. A similar figure is pictured in the book Russian Porcelains by Marvin C. Ross. An incredible monumental triangular architectural pediment, chua from Thailand. Carved of wood in high relief, the design is of scrolling peony vines entwining monkey figures. The anthropomorphized monkeys, dressed in clothing and with human hands, are suggestive of the Hindu deity, Hanuman. This is suoh of samurai's hitatare full dress in Edo-meiji period (upper part). The material is hemp of the handspun & natural indigo dye.Textile seems to be hand spun and woven, and has soft touch. Since this was used from the Edo to the Meiji period, there are many fading and small holes as shown in the image.This is the family crest of kikusui.
