Japanese early 20th century bronze OKIMONO of a peacock by TSUDA SHINOBU. (1875-1946) Signed DAIJU on back of piece. Comes with original artist's box. The OKIMONO measures 5 1/4" tall, 10" long and is 3" wide.

This set of 6 porcelain soup cups and saucers was produced in the US by Willets Belleek between 1885 and 1909. The porcelain and the decoration originated from the factory. The saucers have a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cups are 2 inches high and 5 inches across the handles. The porcelain is egg-shell thin with a molded pattern similar to ones you might find on Irish Belleek porcelain. Sweet pink roses encircle the borders inside the cup, outside the cup and around the saucer...

With black iron Warabite style handles on each drawer, 3 of which also have squared lock plates with Chrysanthemum studs...

DESCRIPTION: An attractive antique Chinese stoneware jar with wide body and outward turning rim, hand crafted with a pleasing celadon glaze over a raised border of circular designs. In original firing condition and dating from the early 20th C. Though the origin is Chinese, this crock would lend a nice touch of "country" in a cottage or farmhouse setting. DIMENSIONS: 7.5” high (19 cm) x 8” diameter (20.3 cm).

Rare Japanese kakiemon ware porcelain jar. Of a tapered melon shape, with circular floral enso motifs of bamboo, blossoming cherry branches, hydrangea, kiri leaves. The Imperial dragon and phoenix paired to represent the emperor and empress. With overglaze green, red, and blue on white bisque ground. The domed lid topped with karakusa (octopus vine) and kiri leaf pattern.

DESCRIPTION: A fine Chinese boxwood water-well basket toggle, intricately carved in an acorn shape with a realistic and detailed basket weave pattern with carved wood rim. The arched overhead handle has a free-carved wood ring attached; the interior is hollowed out. Excellent condition, a beautiful toggle, 19th C. For a similar example see: Schuyler Cammann, Substance and Symbol in Chinese Toggles, #188, p.228. DIMENSIONS: 1-3/4” high.

A rare and massive European Gate key, Late Medieval, ca. 14th.-15th. century.

A very heavy key with kidney-shaped bow and a very thick stem and bit. Remnants of copper plating on the surface.

Size: 21,3 cm. long and 8,3 cm. wide over the bow! Weight: ca. 300-350 grams.

Condition: Basically intact with very heavy patina and corrosion and loss of metal to the bit.

Large and heavily potted porcelain body, decorated in an nice pale cobalt blue in Shunzui style and with medallions showing flying birds and wild gees, birds sitting on branches, sailboats and Fujiyama mountain. DESCRIPTION: A large, non-damper opium pipe, consisting of a long bamboo tube terminating at one end with a bowl of brass and copper overlay acting as the saddle, socket and damper. A tapering brass tip finishes the other end. Around the bowl is a double flower design in copper and brass, and on each side is a decorative brass fish with scales. Attached along the bamboo stem are lengths of braded yarn, one of which terminates in a brass ring for hanging...
