This is indigo dyeing cotton Tsutsugaki Futon- cover used in a rich merchant's family for the Meiji period. As for this, cotton is spun by hand precisely. As for this, a pattern is Tabanenosi and a family coat of arms. As for this, Tabanenosi is expressed like Kuwagata Maedate of Samurai Kabuto. And Kuwagata Maedate of Samurai surrounds a family coat of arms. This seems to express a family in succession to a pride of Samurai...

Rare Ming Dynasty Wanli period ( 1573 - 1619 ) blue and white dish with a " Master of the Rocks " design. Condition : Some very minute rim fritting and one nearly not viseable short hairline. D : 20,2 cm.

Chinese Cizhou type small bowl, with a character "Yuan" on the inside bottom of the bowl. Yuan Dynasty. Condition: there are some glaze chips on the rim, no other flaw beside these. Diameter: 4-3/8".

Charming Japanese small tansu (merchant's chest) in original red lacquer finish with black lacquer frame, made with Kuri (chestnut) front drawers and Sugi (cypress) sides. Decorative floral iron locks on each drawer with key included. Would make an excellent bed side chest or small table/chest for living room.

Bronze Buddha covered with black lacquer and gilded. Thailand, late Ayutthaya to early Ratanakosin, ca. 1800. H. 29 cm. very good condition, only a piece of lacquer missing at the front.

Small bronze seal in the shape of a bird standing on an elevated rectangular base. China, Ming Dynasty. Height: 2.2 cm. Length: 3.4 cm. Abrasion due to age, otherwise good condition.

Antique Japanese black lacquered cha tansu (tea display cabinet) with fabulous, intricate inlay designs of temple scenes, peacocks, and floral motifs. From the southernmost Japanese island known as Ryukyu.

Green glazed pottery wirh wonderful iridescence. The roof can be removed and the pig can be taken out of the sty. Similar pieces can be found in the book 'The Spirit of Han'. Mandalay Period, inlaid with glass. The stand with gilded metal ornaments. H. 51 cm. Ex. Johan Möger Collection. His collection was published in the ' Burmese Buddhist Sculpture' by Otto Karow.

Important Antique Japanese Buddhist Pilgrim's coat. Buddhist monks would embark on a pilgrimage to travel temple to temple. Upon arriving to each temple, the monk would bathe before giving offerings and reciting prayers as well as receive a stamp distinctive to each temple. Normally a monk would carry around a special stamp book however it is not unusual to stamp the monk's coat as seen here.

Statue of Jambhala, also known as Kubera or Vaishravana, wearing necklace, dhoti and diadem, sitting on a double lotus throne, holding the mongoose that spits jewels in his left hand and a currency in his right hand. The statue may have had a mandorla affixed at its back in the past. Bronze, with green and reddish patina particularly under the statue. Tibet, early 19th century. Height: 7 cm. Very good condition. NOTE: Kubera is the Tibetan God of Wealth and Prosperity.
