This is indigo dyeing cotton Tsutsugaki Futon- cover used in a rich merchant's family for the Meiji period. As for this, cotton is spun by hand precisely. As for this, a pattern is Tabanenosi and a family coat of arms. As for this, Tabanenosi is expressed like Kuwagata Maedate of Samurai Kabuto. And Kuwagata Maedate of Samurai surrounds a family coat of arms. This seems to express a family in succession to a pride of Samurai...

Chinese Cizhou type small bowl, with a character "Yuan" on the inside bottom of the bowl. Yuan Dynasty. Condition: there are some glaze chips on the rim, no other flaw beside these. Diameter: 4-3/8".

Important Antique Japanese Buddhist Pilgrim's coat. Buddhist monks would embark on a pilgrimage to travel temple to temple. Upon arriving to each temple, the monk would bathe before giving offerings and reciting prayers as well as receive a stamp distinctive to each temple. Normally a monk would carry around a special stamp book however it is not unusual to stamp the monk's coat as seen here.
Very rare to find one with so many locations marked and visited...
Statue of Jambhala, also known as Kubera or Vaishravana, wearing necklace, dhoti and diadem, sitting on a double lotus throne, holding the mongoose that spits jewels in his left hand and a currency in his right hand. The statue may have had a mandorla affixed at its back in the past. Bronze, with green and reddish patina particularly under the statue. Tibet, early 19th century. Height: 7 cm. Very good condition. NOTE: Kubera is the Tibetan God of Wealth and Prosperity.
