An interesting antique bronze figure, Roman style, possible after antiquity, likely 19th. century AD.

A good bronze, likely of the god Herculas (now missing the club), with fine patina and mounted by way of a brass pin. The mounting is old and the collection whence it came is old too.

We're not certain about the age of this piece so we're selling it as antique but not as ancient.

The handsome large sterling silver vesta case is hammered upon its front with a central medallion inscribed, Lancs & Yorks, Bulldog Match, 1909, along with chased accents. The gently curved back is undecorated and a chatelaine ring is upon the vesta's side. A striker completes the design of this unusual example marking the Bulldog event in the Lancashire and Yorkshire region. Japonesque sterling silver creamer and sugar. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York.

Each: Urn body on domed foot Handles high looping. Interior gilt washed. Creamer has helmet mouth. Engraved insects (dragonfly and butterfly), flowers, and blossoming branch on allover honeycomb hand-hammered ground. Handles have raised interlocking scrollwork with flowers and Moresque shapes based on Persian, the flatware pattern that was designed by Edward C. Moore and first produced in 1872.

A pair of tall Sheffield plate candlesticks with conforming bobeche. On round bases with lines alternating with elongated ovals up the base, column and socket. This style was current around 1800. The wear or “bleed” where the copper shows is on the high places. They are 12 inches (30.5 cm) tall and 5 ½ inches (14 cm) diameter at the base. No marks. Probably English.

Condition: no breaks or repairs. As with most old and real Sheffield plate polishing has taken the silver off of the high ...
