This tastevin departs slightly from the traditional form, with the fluted “godrons” placed immediately around the coin and the sides finished with very nice repousse decoration of grapes, vines and leaves. A Pair of Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs by Tiffany in the "English King" Pattern. The Inside is Marked "Tiffany & Co. Sterling Pat. 1885". The Tongs are 4" in length and in excellent condition (there is some glare in the photos. There is a very small monogram on one side.

An outstanding Restoration period French silver wine taster in the 18th century style typical of Lyon. With the restoration of the Bourbon monarchy, many old styles from the ancien regime once again came into fashion, and this tastevin, building on decorative elements typical of the 1770's, is a perfect example. Tastevins with snake-form handles were particularly popular. Those with a pair of snake heads that somewhat resemble bird's heads flanking a sphere are typical of silver from Lyon...

A Rare Early American Coin Silver Footed Dish (probably for Candy) Made by Albert Coles, Prominent NY City Silversmith who worked from 1836-1880 (died in 1886). Dimensions; 5" wide (9.25" to handles) x 2.5" high; weight 5.5 Troy ounces. Gold washed interior. Circa 1840's. Excellent condition.

Glass container with silver 925 applique. The base contains a seal. Possibly Mexican.
It measures 4.25" height and 2.5" wide at its widest point.

A Large Glass Vanity or Dresser Jar, with a Sterling Repousse Top with a Cherub Design. Dimensions; 5.5" high x 4" wide. Marked sterling, but no maker mark. Minor bruises around the lip of the top and a very small internal chip (?) at the base of the jar. Very good condition overall. Circa 1890.

A George III Silver Galleried Inkstand; assayed in London 1779, with the makers mark "WA" for William Abdy. Dimensions; 7.5" x 3" x 3" high. Shaped with and hourglass cross section and pierced gallery cut glass wells with silver lids, wood base. Fully marked and in very good condition.

A Georgian Cartouche Shaped Silver Four Footed Waiter or Salver with a Raised Lip and a Decorated Band (possibly originally used as a teapot stand). Hallmarked for London, 1796 with the makers mark for Charles Aldridge. Dimensions 7.25" x 5.5", weight 6 Troy ounces. Excellent condition.

An 800 Silver (German) Four Footed Center Bowl, circa 1895. It has Extensive Repoussee Designs on the Inside Rim and the Center of the Bowl Depicting Romantic Scenes, Possibly Court or Royalty Related. It weighs 11.8 Troy ounces and measures 9" across by 2" high and is in excellent condition.

The sides of the tastevin a decorated with clusters of grapes and elegantly curved godrons in the style typical of Orfevre Parrod. Coin inserts, however, are unusual in Parrod tastevins.
