This is antique ecclesiastical sheet music in Latin, from earlier centuries, commonly known as an "antiphonal". These are normally seen as hand painted manuscripts on vellum (animal skin). The present example (17 1/2" by 13 1/2") is a rather typical example, with red bars, and brown/sepia lettering and notes. Condition is good considering the advanced age of the sheet, with overall wrinkling/rippling...

Russian wooden egg, lacquered in black and painted. One side with an orthodox cross and the other probably depicting St Basil’s cathedral in the Kremlin in the late 19th century. It might also show the then newly erected cathedral of the Assumption in Omsk. Height "4 / 10.5 cm. Condition: the painted decoration is flaking, as is the black lacquer (cf. pics).

The Madonna della seggiola or Madonna della sedia is a Madonna painting by the Italian renaissance artist Raphael, dating to c. 1513-1514 and housed in the Palazzo Pitti collection in Florence. It depicts Mary embracing the child Christ, while the young John the Baptist devoutly watches. The bronzed pewter plaque is earlier then other available those have a simple border as well an a title cast on the back. We date this example to late 18th c Italy...

Antique Polish Baroque (17th-18th century Poland) bronze church hanging incense burner censer-thurible. The censer thurible is of baluster form with a pierced domed top and surmounted by a patriarchal cross with a double cross-bar. It is made of several elements: a domed top, bowl, a round conical base, and are cast separately and turned from a solid piece of bronze. The round conical base is fastened to the bowl by the handmade bronze screw from the antique's period time...

Very rare antique, first half of the 18th century, European pewter Roman Catholic Church paten of typical circular form with wide, finely engraved crest of the Roman Catholic Archbishop Jean-Louis Berton des Balbes de Crillon.

The coat-of-arms depicting Heraldic shield with the coat-of-arms of one of the most important European aristocratic families of the famous house De Balbes Berton de Crillon, crowned by the Archbishop Galero (wide-brimmed hat) with 10 tassels on each side.

DESCRIPTION: An antique Mexican folk art carving of a bearded St. Peter in a bishop’s hat holding a large key, symbolizing the key to the kingdom of heaven entrusted to disciple Simon Peter by Christ. This figure was probably part of a home devotional altar; figure can also be hung on a wall or entry door. Very good condition. DIMENSIONS: 13 1/8” high x 3”wide.

Rare and important head of a bearded apostle, his face showing a strong and passionate expression. Polychrome wood. Eyes made of glass painted inside. Of Spanish origin, dating back to the 18th century, this head was found in the Philipines in 1978, together with the centurion head (see our stock number 1-1013 ). Height: 29 cm. Old accident on the left side of the head, left eye missing, (see photos), otherwise very good condition...

Of Spanish origin, dating back to the 18th century, this head was found in the Philipines in 1978. Height: 30.3 cm. Old accidents and restorations mostly around the helmet (see photos), otherwise very good condition. NOTE: This head belonged originally to a large statue which was displayed beside a large crucifix.

A Russian icon, Theotokos of Kazan, also Our Lady of Kazan, depicts the Theotokos Mary with the Christ, produced in wood, tempura, silvered brass oklad with cloisonné enamels on the nimbus. A hand painted plaque is mounted below the image. Condition is excellent with one piece of missing enamel. This fine icon dates to the 19th C., most likely late. Dimension: 12 1/4" x 10 3/4"

Very well crafted French crucifix, of ebonized wood mounted with a nickeled cast Corpus Christi with carved terminating cross ends, overall height 16.75 inches (42.5 cm). From 19th century period, overall in good condition.

DESCRIPTION: 800 silver plaque over wood icon depicts Madonna and child, the faces are enamled while the body features in a silver filigree overlay with both figures wearing elaborate garments and crowns. Engraved with writing Marked "800", from first quarter of 20th century. Size; Height of icon is 10 inches with length of 8.5 inches, no condition issues.
