Twelve eight pointed stars made of cotton printed in orange with small yellow clover-like shapes arranged in rows of twos and threes with alternating white squares all enclosed in three bands of the same printed fabric. The outside band is turned over the edge to join the white cotton backing. Cotton seeds visible in the stuffing. All hand stitched. Very good quilting with running feathers and cross stitching over much of the surface. There is an embroidered, “E” on the back in one corner...

A very well designed and executed eight point Star of Bethlehem pieced cotton quilt with excellent quilting. The pieces around the edges are white with very small pale blue printed sprigs. The pieces for the star are all solid colors. The backing is printed green cotton in a small pattern. Quilted with feather wreaths in the corners and partial ones between the points of the stars. All of the sewing is done by hand. 72 inches square...

A very large and fine example of the designs created by Edward Sands Frost for hooked rungs in the latter part of the 19th century, featuring a King Charles Spaniel in the central oval, surrounded by a garland of flowers and scrolling elements, colors still vivid, professionally mounted on frame with backing. 19th Century craftsmanship for today's lifestyle. This is a richly colored hand dyed cotton antique American Folk Art floral hooked rug in shades of cream, beige, brown, gray and red comprising a centered diamond with scattered flowers and leaves. The outer corners having floral bouquets on a deep brown striated background, striped border. Size: 107" x 69". Condition is excellent with one minor repair on back.

Circa 1900, a large needlework panel done in petit and gros point of a dog sitting on a stool in front of a window and bordered by various floral panels. Colors are cream and varied tones of reds, browns and tan. In a museum quality antique tiger maple frame with gold gilt liner and a wood panel back, it measures 23 x 26". Embroidery sight size measures 17.5” x 20.5".

An exceedingly rare beaded purse with multicolored glass beads on a leather base, and with beaded and wood toggle closures. This early purse might be unique because of its age and that the date is actually worked into the decoration as part of the phrase "Gift of a Friend 1632". The interior of the purse is of a very soft, fine leather, probably deerskin or lambskin.

Especially considering its age the purse is in excellent and exceptional condition, with all the beadwork present...

A large silk satin fan, with sixteen gilt decorated wood "sticks", hand-painted depicting four birds amongst flowering prunus or cherry branches. This item is made with Chinese silk but was probably made in France and was retailed in Liverpool - unusually complete with its original box which carries a dispatch date of 9th November 1898. This mid 19th century folk art crazy quilt is a wonderful mix of richly colored silks and hand embellished surface stitches. The back is a green cotton sateen fabric tied with floss. Eighty seven silk tags create a whimsical border around the entire piece. Taken from a house used as part of the Underground Railroad during the Civil War, we believe this piece was the energetic work of a child learning how to sew.
