Antique Luri rug, last quarter of the 19th century to 1900, shaded dark indigo field with diagonal rows of hooked boteh motifs, rows of animals at both ends, all natural dyes including various shades of blue, blue-green, red, ivory, gold, etc. In overall good condition, ends complete, one small old repair. A large silk satin fan, with sixteen gilt decorated wood "sticks", hand-painted depicting four birds amongst flowering prunus or cherry branches. This item is made with Chinese silk but was probably made in France and was retailed in Liverpool - unusually complete with its original box which carries a dispatch date of 9th November 1898. "Roman Cross", a pieced quilt, this is a remarkable example of a relatively early quilt, circa 1860-1880, the fabrics are documented classics of the period and remain strong and vibrant. There is one tiny professional repair and very minor muting of the fabric along the binding. The stitching is entirely by hand at seven stitches per inch and includes diagonal, parallel line quilting, thin batting. A very special find, professionally washed and ready for use or display. 90"x80"...

Black face on left - made of cotton sateen with wool embroidery. Wonderful plaited hairstyle. Three dimensional lips; oilcloth eyes are cut out to enhance her coy smile. Measures 12" in diameter; circa 1920.
Circle pillow with appliqued date 1893 and initials SM. Hearts appliqued on both sides. Made of wool suiting with some old, very well done repairs. Measures 13" in diameter.

The outer corners having floral bouquets on a deep brown striated background, striped border. Size: 107" x 69". Condition is excellent with one minor repair on back.
