This small purse is an absolute gem. The extremely fine designs – a bird on the front and a group of roses on the back – are worked in tiny petit point stitches in vivid colors. The bird has a blue head, red breast and brown wings and sits on a branch loads with blossoms. The roses are white, pink and red, and beautifully shaded. The body is constructed of very fine taupe netting...
This unique Rooster quilt is truly something to crow about. It is made entirely of 1 inch squares. The background is cotton; the rooster's body is primarily velvet with some wool. In addition to being quilted, the rooster's body is also tied which I believe is meant to give the effect of feathers. The forty five star flag dates the quilt to the time period between 1896 and 1908...

A lovely shield-shaped ivory silk reticule, circa 1830. The purse features apple green piping, applied and embroidered strawberries and rosehips to one side, and a mixed floral spray on the reverse. Embroidery is wonderful. Lined in fine white muslin. Some foxing to silk and a split to bottom edge on spray side; lacking a drawstring. Measures 10” by 9”.

Fantastic 18th century silver reticule – this little bag has a bit of everything! The body features silver sequins applied to silver thread netting over white silk. The knitted scalloped header is comprised of silver and gold metallic thread. The drawstring is twisted metallic thread with terminal balls made of sequins. Metallic thread tassel. A super purse in good condition some losses to sequins and unraveling to drawstring. Measures 4 1/2” by 2 3/4”.
