This Pinwheels pattern quilt is calm and serene, yet not boring. It is a sophisticated shade of dusty rose done in cotton sateen, giving it something of a "dressed up" feel. The matching pillow sham is a true rarity. It would serve for the purpose for which it was intended, but equally well as a matching dresser scarf or wall hanging. Professionally laundered; nicely quilted. Quilt measures 79" square; pillow sham is 31" x 78". Circa 1920.
Geometric quilt that comes closest in pattern to Corn and Beans or Fox and Geese. Placement of the blocks, as well as the use of fabrics, makes this soft toned quilt quite dazzling in patterning. There is actually not a secondary or background block. Both take on equal prominence. Shirting plaids and stripes are nicely complemented by the double blue and pink calico prints. Unwashed condition; one tiny brown spot visible in close-up photos. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1910.

Unlike the usual overall Tumbling Blocks quilt pattern, this one separates the blocks into clusters. This variation creates six point stars in the white open spaces. The use of solid color fabrics make the three dimensional pattern especially effective.
The quilt is in pristine, unwashed condition. Measurements are 72" x 80"; Ohio origin. Made circa 1920's.
This precisely made New York Beauty quilt is a fine example of a desirable and difficult to execute pattern.
It is well pieced and quilted. The off blocks are stitched with large wreaths. LeMoyne stars are a good choice for the centers of each block. It has been professionally laundered and is in pristine condition. The quilt measures a generous 90" x 96". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1920's.
This Eye of God quilt is an unusual pattern with an even more rare Greek Key border. The maker took great pains with the construction as the entire quilt is made of 1 1/2 inch squares. To clarify - rather than strips of fabric being used for the ground and colored areas, it is made totally with small squares. It's a strong pattern done in soft, entirely solid colors. The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in pristine condition.
Measurements are 76" x 88"...
