This Lone Star (aka Texas Star or Star of Bethlehem) doll quilt is a terrific miniature. Rarely does one see a small one in this pattern.
The quilt measures 23 1/2 inches square. Because it is square, it would look especially good if hung on point.
It is well quilted with floral medallions in the corners around the Star; cable in the pink border and diagonal lines in the outer border.
The front is in spotless condition...
Pieced Center Medallion Quilt made of richly colored light weight wools. Unusual format in that the Central Medallion was popular in the first half of the 19th century but had largely gone out of fashion at the time this was made. Quilted but seems to have originally been tied as well as indicated by regularly placed small dark circles.
Circa 1870. Probably New England origin. Measures 68" x 78".

Whimsical would be the best way to describe this unusual fruit quilt. I believe they are meant to be apples but one can also make a case for cherries. Regardless of which you prefer, it is in excellent condition; made circa 1870. It is quilted with concentric diamonds and has a border on three sides that alternates the colors of the fruit. Measurements are 80 inches square.

Scottish samplers offer enormous appeal with their pictorial qualities and distinctive characteristics. Buildings, stylized trees, peacocks, animals, birds and baskets embellish these samplers all while indicating the high level of skill of Scottish schoolgirls...

This Light and Dark Log Cabin quilt is a particularly well done example of a classic pattern. Many log cabins are not actually quilted and this one is, as can easily be seen in the red centers. It is a popular belief that the frequently used red centers of log cabins represent the hearth of the home. The piano key border is an especially desirable edge treatment. The quilt is made from a well chosen and placed variety of wool fabrics. Measurements are 76" square; excellent condition...

This Mennonite Windmill Blades Log Cabin quilt (aka Pineapple Log Cabin) is one of the finest I have had the pleasure to own. It is made of wool challis with deep, rich colors and five borders that repeat fabrics within the quilt. The logs are a mere 1/4" in width. Corner blocks of diagonal stripes are the ultimate finishing point. Measurements are 72" x 83". Annville, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870. Excellent condition.
This beautiful applique quilt appears to be an original pattern alternating with traditional oakleaves. The red fabric is as unusual as the pattern. It is very well quilted with wreaths between the applique. The centers have different designs including hearts; stars; apples; flowers and a pear.
The quilt is in excellent unwashed condition. There is slight unevenness to the background that could be remedied with a wash but I don't feel it is necessary.

This Feathered Stars quilt is exquisitely made in every way. It is tightly pieced with small triangles to the stars as well as the triple border. Placement of the stars creates wonderful positive/negative images with the off blocks. Floral medallions are quilted in the square off blocks. This is a very nice egg wash chintz brown calico bag with a tan linen lining. It has a ribbon trim across the top and around the edges of the bag. The edges only have a little of the ribbon trim left, it has worn off over the years. The bag is in really good shape and is not fragile, it could be really used. Or great to use to store items while hanging off a hook or peg rack. 10" by 13" not including the straps. Circa 1870-80
