Exceptional large size complete pair of Malatya saddlebags, offered in very good condition. These bags appear to date from the late nineteenth century. Slit tapestry with wrapped outline wefts, closure systems intact. Woven in Anatolia by Kurdish weavers. Approximately 33" by 58". One of three complete pairs currently in our collection.

Solid color Straight Furrows Log Cabin quilt done in solid color, lightweight wools. Backing is printed cotton. Rich colors accented with red centers make for a particularly striking pattern. Measures 70" x 71"; Pennsylvania origin. Circa 1880.
After considerable searching, I discovered that the name of this unusual quilt pattern is Full Moon. It combines the great positive/negative qualities of the Mill Wheel pattern with additional, larger circles. The bold zig zag border is a wonderful counterpoint to the round shapes of the body of the quilt. Professionally laundered; pristine condition. Measures 72" x 76"; Pennsylvania origin. Circa 1870.
This pink and green Diamonds in Squares quilt is the color palette of the gemstone, watermelon tourmaline. Striped and checked fabrics add to the complexity of the quilt. Perfectly balanced with half squares creating a border. Excellent condition; wool with cotton backing. Tied rather than quilted. Measures 68" x 72"; circa 1920.
Pieced Center Medallion Quilt made of richly colored light weight wools. Unusual format in that the Central Medallion was popular in the first half of the 19th century but had largely gone out of fashion at the time this was made. Quilted but seems to have originally been tied as well as indicated by regularly placed small dark circles.

Richly colored Amish One Patch quilt from Greene County, Pennsylvania. Seems to have been made by someone without tremendous financial resources but with a great color sense. Some of the blocks are pieced together with several pieces of the same materials. Front is wool; backing is cotton flannel. Measures 74" square; circa 1920.
Variation of Lemoyne Stars Quilt pattern that may be unique. Central star is surrounded by a half star in each corner. White background is pieced so that the central star is in a square surrounded by a diamond. All done in a wonderful, richly colored plaid fabric. Nicely quilted. Professionally laundered; excellent condition. Some staining on back but none on the front. Measures 73" x 78". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870.

This is a truly wonderful little early 19th century beaded coin purse. The front depicts a man fishing by a stream; there’s a vase of flowers on the reverse. The body of the bag is worked in golden yellow, and the beadwork for the designs is intricate and colorful. Great condition; a few bead missing at the bottom edges. Lovely gilt frame and chain. Purse measures 4 1/2”.
