A lovely set of three pewter measuring mugs for quarter, Pint and 1/2 pint, England, 18th.-19th. century.

Scarce as a complete set in this quality with brass rims and profusely inscribed with owners names and fine pewter touchmarks. The Quarter mug (1 quart Imperial capacity) is quite large and would probably have contained nearly a liter liquid. Brass rim measures are considered to have been used to measure shell fish and dry produce, though.

An extremely rare matching pair of large pewter wine jugs, Germany, Marburg, dated 1740.

Fantastic execution and made for a very wealthy client in c. 1740, which is engraved on the lid beneath the name of the commisioneer - JOHANNES HAAS. The jugs are stamped with a Marburg 'Feinzinnmarke' - a pewter touch mark from the city in Germany. The master given is Johann H Werlin, a meister working out of Marburg.

A massive early European Pewter Flacon, Hamburg, Germany, manifactured 1751 (touch marks) and dated 1759 on the lid.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Italy by Caopdimonte between 1740 and 1745. It bears a rare “Fleur de Lis” mark under glaze. The saucer is 5 1/4 inches in diameter and is 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 3/4 inches high with a diameter of 2 3/8 inches. The porcelain is highly translucent with egg shell quality. It has a parchment hue and has imperfections in the glaze. The cup shape and handle are very similar to Meissen cups of that time...

Very rare antique, 17th century (circa 1650 A.D.) Polish Winged Hussar massive sword (broadsword) Pałasz (pallasch) with a karabela hilt and a semi-closed guard composed of a carved horn grip, secured to the tang of the blade with three rivets with domed pewter heads (one rivet has a silver washer).

The steel guard has a semi-closed knuckle bow, faceted crossguard and langets, and down curved quillon...

Edwardian sterling silver porringer. Made by William B. Kerr in Newark, ca 1910. Round with gently upward tapering sides and solid shaped handle. Rectilinear frames with etched scenes of girl kneeling in prayer, feasting from a fruit platter, and seated at table with steaming pot and bowl of porridge. With text propounding dubious causality: “Every night / my prayers I say, / And get my dinner / every day;” and “And every day / that I’ve been good, / I get an orange / after food”...

Japanese silver tea caddy, ca 1890. Ovoid; plain splayed foot and short neck and short inset neck. Applied and chased irises with floppy, irregular petals and reeded tendrils rooted in eddying water as well as baskets and wood staves; hand-hammered ground. Cover top has same and sides have engraved fretwork border. Large with big and bold ornament. Gorgeous Meiji Art Nouveau for the cosmopolitan West. Marked. Very good condition with nice patina.
