Russian 875 silver cigar box, 1886. Rectangular with straight sides; cover flat and hinged. Gilt interior. Trompe l’oeil wood panels with realistic grain and tax stamps for Havana “Imperiales”. On cover top are medallion portraits including one of Emperor Napoleon III of France. A nice memento from the reign of Alexander III, the Slavophile tsar with French sympathies.
