An absolutely gorgeous hand carved French casket with fruitwood, rosewood, and satinwood marquetry. The detailing throughout the whole casket is excellent with the inside lid also featuring marquetry. The inside of the box is lined with dark blue velvet and has a lovely lift-out tray. This is a very nice all original very small paint decorated box. It is all original and including the lock and key but the lock I think been disabled. The boards are thick for such a small box and the nails are also oversized for the box. It is the kind of thing that makes you smile...
