An antique Japanese Negoro Choba Tansu (merchant chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Original hand forged iron hardware and Negoro Urushi lacquer finish. Complete with 8 drawers and 2 sets of sliding doors. The upper doors has a spacious storage area where the merchant stored his business records and books. The lower doors has books and records storage to the left and four small storage drawers to the right...

One of the best tables we've ever had the pleasure of selling, this mahogany table is 60" round when closed. There are twelve leaves, each 9" wide, making the table extend to fourteen feet when completely open. There is a center for support when open. The center pedestal is heavily carved with acanthus leaves ending in paw feet. The table is circa 1870. It has been professionally restored and is in perfect condition...

A fine and rare CHINESE QING DYNASTY RARE MASSIVE FAMILLE ROSE VASE, circa 1800

From our European Collection, a good late 19th / early 20th century cast iron mirror, probably English. A charming but unpretentious piece that can complement many different styles of decor.

Size and Condition: 28 1/4 inches tall, 16 inches wide. Excellent condition, no repairs or restoration and the glass appears to be original: Some general wear to the ironwork commensurate with age as seen in the second close-up, but this only adds to the charm.

Small Antique Domed Top Penwork Sewing Box, having a hooped handle above a domed lid decorated with a scene of abby ruins, canted sides, and a front panel with scrolled, foliate decoration. Circa 1800, probably English. (overall scratches)

From our European Collection, a stunning Napoleon III gilt bronze mounted boulle marquetry and ebonized "bureau en pente," or slope top writing desk, dating to the third quarter of the 19th century circa 1865-1885. This fantastic and nearly pristine example of boulle work features a rectangular top surmounted by a pierced brass gallery, set above a boulle inlaid slant front desk cover that opens to several drawers and pigeon holes above a larger scalloped drawer...

Early 19th Century Carved Faïence soup tureen in the shape of a Rabbit 8”x3”, probably France floral decoration.

A Scottish wood travelling tobacco or pipe box, wonderfully and fulsomely decorated with penwork. The scene on the top shows two older men arguing or bargaining, in front of what appear to be farm buildings. Under this is "And test Me nhow auld boy" followed by the initials HC. The sides and bottom of the box are decorated with finely drawn rows of leaves...

19th Yi dynasty Korean Buddha painting with 16 deities. The Korean Buddhist painting represents the portrayal of buddha giving a sermon on the Lotus Sutra on Youngchuksan mountain. The buddha is centrally positioned and directed as a larger figure amongst the many budasatvasf and lesser gods.

Japanese merchants chest known as a gyoshu baku. Made of 100% sugi (Japanese Cypress) wood. Hand forged iron hardware. Single hinged with latching door. Tucked inside are seven drawers. Gyohu bakus are meant to be worn on the backpack for ease of transport and organized storage.
