This is a Japanese antique medicine chest called Kusuri Dansu from the late Edo period (1850's-1860's) made of Kiri ( paulownia ) and Sugi ( cedar) wood. It measures 35.25" high by 35.25" wide by 7.63" deep. Used by a pharmicist, its purpose was for the storage of herbs and medicines. This type of chest has become increasingly rare over the years.

This is a 2 section antique Japanese stacking chest called Kiri Kasane Tansu from 1880 to 1890 from the mid Meiji era. It measures 40.5" high by 37.88" wide by 16.88" deep. It is made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. The hinged door on the bottom right opens to reveal 2 additional drawers hidden from view. As if this wasn't enough, the tansu maker added one additional secret box to the piece. Also, back of drawers has a small wooden piece which can be sliding out for secret compartment. (see photo).

Lovely early 19th century two drawer drop leaf worktable, tiger maple with cherry drawers. The drawers are all chamfered on the bottom, and the piece measures 29" tall x 20" wide x 20 1/2" deep, and 39 1/2" wide when the leaves are up. It is in wonderful original condition.

Beautiful little three drawer drop leaf work table, early 19th century, made of mahogany as the main wood and the drawers decorated in tiger maple. It is in excellent original condition, with the bottom of all the drawers chamfered. It measures 30" tall x 19 1/2" wide x 24" deep when the sides are down, and 40" wide when both sides are up. It has its original brass pulls.

Absolutely the most beautiful American Victorian dresser I've ever seen! Made by Mitchell & Rammelsberg circa 1870, this mahogany dresser is 9'3" tall, by 60" wide, by 25" deep. It has three long drawers over another hidden drawer, and all interiors are maple. Pictured in Dubrow's book "Styles of American Furniture," there is one like it in the Newark Museum.
