This long piece consists of a rectangular seat covered with a white fabric sitting upon a straight belt supported by four cabriole legs on escargot feet. Wear consistent with age and use. The foliated finely carved arched crest above an openwork back with arches and quatrefoil motifs flanked by turned stiles, over a padded seat, raised on turned legs ending in rounded feet. The chair has an old needlepoint cushion with a floral motif.
The chair is quite heavy (and solid), and the places where it’s worn show a dark reddish brown wood that is consistent with mahogany wood.

This lovely quarter sawn oak hall tree is one of the nicest we've had. Standing 6'8" tall, it has a beveled mirror with four hooks and a covered bench. It is beautifully carved and in excellent condition. The width is 3'6", and the depth is 1'6". It is a great piece for any hallway.
