This beautiful piece is dark walnut inlaid in stylized foliate strapwork design, using a softer and lighter colored wood for the inlay material that is most likely either tulipwood or fruitwood. The piece is adorned with wonderful gilt bronze castings on the columns and base area that are essentially artwork unto themselves...

Neo-Classical period Continental Biedermeier leather top Writing table with two(2) drawers, circa 1830, possibly Austrian, 28" high, 38" wide, 20" deep, beautiful Walnut veneer side and drawer front, secondary wood is Oak inside dovetailed drawers, supported by simple solid Walnut square tapered legs. New green natural leather top, and some veneer cracks on the corners.

DESCRIPTION: A Spanish carved oak buffet a deux corps (buffet or hutch with the top cabinet having a shallower depth than the bottom), 19th C. The carved cavetto molding crowns double lattice work cupboard doors with hand forged iron hinges which open to reveal two interior shelves. These are set on a base with a frieze drawer over double cupboard doors, also with iron hinges, each carved with a six point flower set within a circle...

From our European Collection, a very large and finely carved oak Prie Dieu, late 18th - early 19th century, probably Belgian/Flemish or possibly French. This Prie Dieu has a very well executed carved central panel, and is unusual for its size and overall workmanship. A dramatic statement piece for an elegant environment.

Size and Condition: 88 inches tall, 34 inches wide, 30 inches deep. There are random age related stress cracks and rubbing, but no significant losses...

DESCRIPTION: An outstanding, solid walnut, trestle-form refectory table comprising four hand-turned splayed legs raised on ball feet, each pair joined by a thick, scrolling wood stretcher. The legs are attached to a solid single-plank rectangular top with two hidden drawers to one side. Beautiful scrolling iron stretchers attach the underside plank with the wood stretchers for strength and stability...

DESCRIPTION: A handsome set of six Spanish Renaissance carved walnut and leather dining chairs, 19th c., the rectangular leather backs over rectangular leather seats with large bronze floret tack trim, on square legs joined by stretchers with hand carved circular florets. CONDITION: Condition is consistent with age and use. The wood is in good condition with minor scuffs and nicks. The leather upholstery has some mild cracking and some wear at the edges...

Lovely petite hand painted curio cabinet with glass door with bronze trim and "J" shaped side glass, also with bronze mounts. It measures 54" tall x 26" wide x 15" deep. It is beautifully hand painted with a musical and flower motif.

An exceptional 19th century European carved walnut armchair with original needlepoint upholstery and nail head trim. Seat features a scene with a wolfhound guarding a sheep. Back is covered in orange velvet which is torn at one corner (see pix). The scene on the chair back also has some damage to the man's face which can be repaired. (see pix). There a spots of minor age related wear to upholstery, but really in very good antique condition. The chair is solid and sturdy...

An original chair of the renowned Wiener Werkstatte movement, circa 1905, measuring approximately 35" by 17" by 16 1/2". There are two original labels underneath bearing the names Jakob and Josef Kohn, from Wien (Vienna). In 1904, Josef Hoffmann, one of the founders of the Wiener Werkstatte, designed a furniture line, noted for its simple forms, for the firm of Jakob & Josef Kohn, which actually manufactured the chair. A German, domed top chest with ornamental hand wrought iron hardware, heavily oxidized and worn original surface and paint, and marked in white “T Adam Schuch reifst nach New York”. The chest looks like 17th century work. The name and destination likely added in the 18th century upon immigration. Reasonably good decoration considering the history. Length, 35 inches. Height, 17 1/2 inches. Depth, 18 1/2 to 19 inches (varying due to movement of the wood at the joinings).

This rich carved Austrian rural style armoire comes from the Pinzgau valley near Salzburg. He is made in the Renaissance style, but he dates later at about 1740. Softwood ( pine needle wood ) Very nice restored condition. H : 72,5 inc. B : 48,5 inc. Deep : 22,5 inc.

This is another carved Pinzgauer armoire, this piece is from near Goldegg in the Pinzgau valley. This softwood ( pine needle wood ) piece is made in the Baroquian style, it also dates at about 1740 . Very nice restored condition ! H : 73 inc. B : 49,5 inc. Deep : 26 inc.

This is a Austrian rural style chest, a so called carved " Bauerntruhe " from Styria. Softwood ( pine needle wood ) This piece from about 1750 originaly was only to open from upwards. To make this nice piece more useable for everydays use, there recentely was made 2 doors into the front side of the chest. These 2 doors are not visible, when they are closed. From our European Collection, a good and substantial pair of Continental hand-carved black walnut chairs, 19th century, featuring claw feet and floral motifs carved in deep relief. The seat cushions are a mustard / gold colored silk and are either original, or later 19th / early 20th century replacements.
