Console D’Époque Louis XV, a two-legged French wall table, carved of oak, painted and parcel gilt edge decorations and “Rouge de Rance” Marble-Top. A shaped and polished serpentine top above a foliate and floral garland pierced frieze, raised on acanthine carved C-scroll legs joined by a decorative stretcher and ending in pointed square toes. Painted in shades of sage green and umber with relief details in gold leaf.

The frame is in very strong, heavy and solid and upholstery work is new. These chairs will go together very well with #1386068 Sheraton sofa in the very elegant traditional living room setting.

DESCRIPTION: A beautiful pair of late 19th century French carved walnut armchairs, with original gros point and petit point upholstery with nail head trim, the backrests with a central scrolling cartouche framing two maidens encircled with flowers. The seats and back are upholstered in dark blue/back fabric over a turned H-shaped stretcher base with a pierced, carved front stretcher, raised on animal paw feet. Very good condition, and the perfect complement to an Old World decor...
