DESCRIPTION: A beautiful pair of late 19th century French carved walnut armchairs, with original gros point and petit point upholstery with nail head trim, the backrests with a central scrolling cartouche framing two maidens encircled with flowers. The seats and back are upholstered in dark blue/back fabric over a turned H-shaped stretcher base with a pierced, carved front stretcher, raised on animal paw feet. Very good condition, and the perfect complement to an Old World decor...
Fine Antique French Napoleon lll Marquetry inlay wooden jewel casket, oak and bovine bone with bronze mounts. the inside with its original cream velvet liner.no losses or damage to the inlay except a tiny spot in the center of the lid though it may be original. The mounts are all intact though some of the attachment nails are missing and the hinge could be mounted stronger it has its hinge nails . A complete intact casket.

This is a splendid and rare beginning of the 18th century polychrome Crucifix made during the reign of the Sun King Louis XIV, originally coming from Toulouse in southern France. Toulouse being one of the cities on the Way of St. James, as indicated by the gilt scallops highlighting the cross. This latter is made from ebonized lemon tree, while Christ is beautifully sculpted from cypress. A certificate of authenticity is provided. Circa date 1700-1710. Dimensions 33"high/ 17"wide.
