This very well carved ivory okimono of a Chinese merchant is a late Meiji period product. It is 5” high, 2” wide and 1 ½” thick at the thickest part. It depicts a Chinese merchant with his hands in his sleeves, resting them in front of him. There are at least 5/6 individual style of chinese calligraphy on a fan, late Qing or republic era, by a few calligraphers unknown to me as i am not expert in Chinese calligraphy and i can't read the chinese words. To me it's nice as deco for wall as it has aged by time.

Charming Japanese antique small cloisonne vase decorated with a scene of two koi swimming in a stream under blossoming wisteria, the flowers are done in purple, pink, yellow and white, the entire scene set on a turquoise blue ground, bottom contains an image of a bell (or suzu) with the name Gokou stamped onto the bottom, Meiji Period.
