A Chinese export Imari dish, Kangxi period, early 18th century. Fluted sides and decoration of peony and chrysanthemum in iron red and gilt over under-glaze blue. Diameter "10/ 25,5 cm. Condition: rim frits, a hairline and a 3 cm restoration to the rim (cf. pictures).

A pair of Japanese dishes or plates, Edo, probably 18th century. Over-glaze decoration in iron red, aubergine, black, green and gilt of scholars in a landscape of rocks and banana trees. In the centre Kirin, the mythical animal, in under-glaze blue. The back with auspicious symbols. Diameter "8½/ 21,5 cm (both plates). Condition: both dishes with some wear to the decoration, one with a chip to underside of rim (cf. pictures).

Three Shishi lions or “Foo dogs”, the guardian animals that used to be placed outside temples and imperial buildings. Two of the three originally formed the knobs of urn lids, the third and smallest is a lid from a miniature incense vessel or urn. Two with aubergine and green/turquoise glaze, the third in crackle-glaze gilt. Height of biggest Foo dog "2¾/ 7 cm, of smallest "1/ 2,5 cm. Condition: the angry, middle-sized dog has got his right back leg restored.

A very nice example jar decorated with splashed iron spots. Qingbai glaze over a porcelain body. Jingdezhen ware, Song Dynasty 12th. century. Diameter = 8 cm, height = 6,5 cm. Condition : excellent no chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restorations.

A pair of hanging scrolls by Kano Dohaku Chikanobu (1772-1821), a famous Edo period painter, 5th head of the Surugadai branch of the Kano School. In 1813 he received the honorary title of "Okurakyo-Hogen" (law of the eye).The pair contains an image of three geese set near a marshland with reeds. Scroll comes with box that woud be of the period. Age: Mid-Edo Period( 1800-1820). Size per scroll: Height: 70.25" Width: 14.25" (with ends) 16.25".

Zen triptych scroll by Sesson Shukei (1504?-1589) The set of three are paintings of a radish and nappa cabbage with Lao Tzu riding a bull as its centerpiece. Scroll set comes with a box with paper labels naming the object and figure in the painting. One label reads that one of the Kano Eisen (the first or second) had provided an opinion, but the orignal document does not exist anymore. Age: Late Muromachi 16th century. A charming late 19th C. Chinese tea cup and saucer, displaying the traditional dragon and other design elements. The hollowed transparent holes are covered with glaze to form the ever popular rice pattern. Various symbols such as the sunburst represent the Emperor and bats for good fortune, on the underside of the teacup are various Doaist symbols. Tea cup measures 2.75" diameter x 2" high, saucer measures 4" diameter x 1" high". In excellent condition without hairlines or chips.

Large ornate vessel with wide funnel-shaped mouth and vertical handles alternating with raised left hands. The hands enhanced with stripes. Dots on the back of the hand, the forefinger and the little finger.

This is Patchwork silk fukusa of an impressive carapace of a turtle of the very rare Edo era(1800-1867). It has slight stain and damage. However, it is in a very good state. I recommend it to collection of you. size:43cm x 42cm (16.9" x 16.5")

A beautiful antique Imari covered dish painted with purple, green and yellow spotted Chinese lions surrounded with peonies. The bottom section of the dish contains scrolling vine and geometric patterns. Age: 19th century. Size: Diameter: 9.75" Height: 5.8".

Chinese Junyao bowl from the Yuan Dynasty. From the collection of Irwin Hersey, renowned author on Asian and primitive art, and publisher of the Primitive Art Newsletter in the 1970s. Irwin Hersey was an advisor to museums and prominent collectors, and vetted pieces for many of the international tribal art fairs and Asian art fairs. He purchased this bowl from PB Auction in 1975. 4.5w x 1.75h inches, 11.5w x 4.5 cm.

This finely carved noble lady is a mid or late 19th century product. It is 12” high, 2 ¾” wide and 2 3/8” thick. There is an honorable “Yong Zheng” mark on the bottom. The lady is holding a bunch of lily blossoms in her left hand and a basket of peony blossoms in her right hand. The statue has great patina. Aside from some loss of coloring and a small old repair to a broken tassel on the front of her robe, it is in excellent condition.

This very nicely cast metal young soldier standing on a white marble base is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is 18 ¾” high, 8” wide and 5” thick (measure from the base). It depicts the young soldier holding an animal horn in his right hand and is wearing a pack on his back. It is in very good condition.

This rare cloisonné statue of a mythical animal is a late 19th century product. It is 10” high, 16” long and 8 ½” wide. According to Chinese legend, an animal that has a dragon head and tortoise body is called “BaXia” (or Bixi) and is the oldest of nine dragon sons. BaXia is valiant and powerful; he has the strength to carry the heaviest of burdens. He has the body and shell of the tortoise, so it represents longevity and will bring good fortune...
