This is one of my favorites from the Heflin ceramic collection. It has been broken and glued back together and is missing parts. Dr. Allen Heflin found this piece in Xico, Mexico in 1960 according to his journal. He must have hung it on his wall since he glued a wire to the back. This is a clear representation of a man either emerging or being swallowed by Quetzalcoatl. It is 6" long by 5" wide. The imagery scrams pre-Columbian. It is attributed to the Aztec culture C1300AD.

Ancient, Pre-Columbian, Colima culture Protoclassic (100 BC to 250AD) ceramic effigy vessel in the form of a duck with low rounded body, small wings to the sides as if ready for flaying, the short tail at the back and the flaring spout emerging from the center.
CONDITION: as can be seen in this photo, the piece has been broken and re-glued in same places.

Exceptional detail and design on this very large 13 1/4" wide x 4 3/4" tall pre-Columbian Mayan tri-leg bowl with rattle legs depicting birdman dancing. Several large pieces reattached. Beautiful original paint on interior and exterior. Awe-inspiring display as is or have Stoetzerinc restore.

A very attractice pottery bowl with the typical corset / convex shape, Ica / Chincha bowl, pre-columbian, 1000-1476 AD.

Probably made locally under Inca overlordship. The ornamentation of this Ica-Chincha vessel is geometric, and it brings to mind a woven textile pattern and surface.

Size: 12,8 cm. in diameter and 4,8 cm. tall.

Condition: Good Very fine, intact with a few minor glaze chips to the rim.

A rare antique Pre-Columbian Jama-Coaque 300 B.C. - 400 A.D. ceramic amulet in the form of a standing nude male figure with an erect phallus. These types of amulets were associated with the male sex's power and fertility. The object has a hole at the temple for suspension.

CONDITION: It is in good condition, showing its age and wear. No repairs or restorations.

An unusual and rare Pre-Columbian necklace of ancient ivory-colored petrified Scorpian eggs and ceramic disc beads that were discovered together (it was restrung in Columbia)...

Of the over 10,000 artifacts that the late world famous Dr. Allen Heflin found, this little miniature hand-molded ceramic female figurine ranks among the rarest. It is from the unattributed Preclassic Period, C1200-900BC. It is a mere 1 1/2" long and in superb condition except for a small ding on the front headdress and small dings to both back feet. It still has significant traces of red and white pigment. Heflin found this little treasure in Cuautitlan, Mexico and is so noted on the back...

A couple of rare vessels in red / black, Quimbaya, Ecuador or Columbia, 7th.-14th. cent. AD

Lot consists of a lovely pedestal rattle vessel with small perferations on the foot and applications of animals on the rim and a jug with a human face impressed on the neck, Anthropomorphic style and decorated with black on red lines.

A highly attractive terracotta stamp seal, carved in deep relief with a geomethric pattern, Pre-Columbian, Nicoya, Linea Vieja, 1st. mill. AD

Well-made in a wonderful condition and large. Almost stone-like density of this red ceramic.

Size: 57 mm. tall and 48 mm. in diameter.

Condition: Extremely Fine.

Pre Columbian Period Moche Feline head vessel. North Coast Peru, 450 - 700 AD. A love two colour pottery vessel in the form of a feline (animal - jaguar?) head and a trompet-shaped spout.

The cat fierce looking with barred teeth.

Size: 19,5 cm. x 14 cm.

Condition: Choice!, intact with a micro chip under the spout, mentioned only to be 100% correct. Fine old collection patina.

Rare Ceramic stirrup spout vessel with seated Scorpio. Moche Culture, Peru, 100 BC to 700 AD.

A superb vessel in very good intact condition. A Scorpio is seated on top of the vessel and from it's back, the stirrup handle evolves.

Ex Estate sale of Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany 2003 and since then in a Hessen Collection.

This stunning miniature Colima warrior is 1 1/2" tall. It is from the estate of the late Lynn Langdon. The figure was acquired in Mexico in the mid-20th century and is attributed to the Colima horizon, c.300BC-300AD.collection. The right arm has been cleanly broken and glued together. A fabulous little beauty.
