This beautiful bone weaving tool is from the central coast area of Peru. It is from the Chancay culture. 800AD-1200AD. It has a carved pelican and jaguar on the knuckle. It is 6 3/4" long and has nice polish. It is a no-brainer. I purchased it from HD Enterprises on October 12, 1989.

This pre-Columbian Chancay bone flute is from the central coast area of Peru, 800AD-1200AD. It is 6" long and has four holes on the top and one on the bottom. The knuckle is carved with a very nice frog and two serpents/snakes along the sides. It is in beautiful, solid condition with superb patina. A real no-brainer. This is an extremely rare, unique IMPORTANT Olmec quartz engraved plaque. I have only seen a handful of authentic Olmec quartz pieces in my 40 years of collecting. This unique Mayan translucent jadeite tube pipe is simply astounding and extremely detailed. The earliest mesoamerican pipes were tube pipes and date back to 1500BC. The material being smoked was inserted into the mouth of the serpent and inhaled from the other side. It could have had a perishable stem such as bone or wood. Very unique translucent Spondylus shell human carving which is red/cream-colored found in the coastal area of Peru. 1 3/8" by 3/4". Collected in the 1950s by L. L. Dees. Two extremely rare and very attractive figurines from the Manteno culture: An oval shaped vessel with a human face and crossed legs of an animal in front. The face and the mouth of the vessel are framed by dashed lines and a stylized, sitting man with oversized head, 1000-1500 AD.

A highly interesting and very accomplished Blackware vessel with the portrait head of a living man, Precolumbian Peru, Late Moche or early Chimú, 7th.-9th. century AD.

Superbly detailed and rather substantial vessel, made as a grinning man with his tungue between his teeth and wearing larger earrings and headdress, the spout of the vessel prodruding from the top of his head. Rather scarce piece!

Size: 22 cm. tall and 16 cm. wide.

Condition: Choice and intact!

This early South Coast textile incorporates a two-headed serpent motif, together with a human (or divine) being with arms raised high (sometimes referred to as "the oculate being," because of the prominent, bulging eyes.). Classic south coast imagery, most probably Nazca (Nasca). I included a photograph of a much later related image, dating to perhaps as much as one thousand years later, to show the continuity of the imagery. Ancient Moche solid cast silver Tumi Sceptre c 300 AD with Warriors or high priest Lords. Fine sculpture and casting with inlaid stone eyes headdress ear flairs and shields. Xrf testing done for content appraised and authenticated by Lowell Collins with paperwork. The sceptre came from a 1960s Texas collection. Weight is 292g silver and is 9.5" long and 2 ' wide at the top.
