A small but vibrant blue faience amulet of the god Bes playing the tambourine with suspension loop to the top. He is an ancient Egyptian deity worshipped as a protector of households, mothers and children and childbirth. Bes combines characteristics of a dwarf and a lion.

Egyptian head with side lock, probably of Harpokrates, the infant son of Isis and Horus.
The face shows almond shaped eyes, a flattish nose, and slit mouth. The well preserved left ear appears just below the partially present side lock. The neck slightly bent to the figure’s left side.
The head most likely belongs to an ithyphallic limestone figure. For a related example, cf. acc. no. ST58 in the British Museum database.

Faience ushabti for Horpenaset. Depicted mummiform, wearing a tripartite wig and beard. With pleasant, well defined, facial details, with arms crossed and hands emerging from tightly-fitted garment, hands holding hoes and seed sack behind the left shoulder. A T-shaped column of incised text at the front reads: "Illuminate the Osiris, Horpenaset, born of Asetshesen". 30th Dynasty, 365 -332 B.C. 4 3/8 inches high. Intact. Mounted. From an old New Jersey collection.

Double side Udjat and Wedjat amulet - eye of both RA and Horus, Late Period, c. 660-332 bC.

Size: c. 16 mm. long.

Condition: Good VF, completely intact with finely preserved glaze.

This is a copper alloy dagger or short sword. It has an interesting patina consisting primarily of light to medium green tones (likely malachite) mottled with red and reddish brown areas (likely copper oxides). There are areas where the deep brown, lightly corroded base metal is still visible and somewhat lustrous. This is a beautiful lapis lazuli scarab, 1/2" (13 mm) long. It is a particularly fine piece of lapis. It came from R. Box, a retired police inspector in Oxford, UK, in 1995.
